Learn to say NO if you feel overcommitted, without feelings of guilt. Don't forget to involve the kids in all the exciting activities. For them, the December festivities are even more special than they are (or could be, or should be..) for grown ups. Let them take part in the preparations, give them their own little jobs like helping in the kitchen; with the decorations, the Christmas cards; laying the table; making desserts, etc.; even if it would mean delay for you. Also see to it that they get sufficient sleep. And of course, the item about getting sufficient sleep, is also applicable to you!
Make a list with priorities so that you keep the overview and don't spend too much time on less important items.
And last but not least: keep your expectations on a realistic level. You don't want to have the perfect gift, the perfect party or perfect dinner. Remember what it's all about: enjoying each others company! Instead: look around you and enjoy all the special little things: the tree, the candles, maybe the snow, all the dear ones that surround you... and be grateful!
We wish you a super time; enjoy!
