5-HTP (5-Hydroxy-Tryptophan)

Elsewhere on the site (How to survive Christmas?), we mentioned the nutritive supplement "5-HTP". Below, we will give you some more information about this supplement.

5-HTP is short for "5-Hydroxy-Tryptophan". This amino-acid is obtained from the extract of the Griffonia Simplicifolia, a West-African plant. Its seeds are a rich source of 5-HTP. One this tryptophan has been absorbed by the body, it will reach the brain very fast and will be transformed into serotonin, a so-called "neuro-transmitter". The supplement can be very effective to people with a low serotonin level.

The extract of the Griffonia Simplicifolia has the following positive aspects:
