Chakra Therapy

Chakra Therapy

This therapy belongs to the category of alternative healing methods. "Chakra" is a Sanskrit word and literally means "spinning wheel". Chakras are the "junctions" on our body; the "energy centres", all corresponding to a certain part of the body and the relevant body parts and organs. They are not visible and you will not find anything about them in the regular medical books.

When these chakras are being activated by treatment, the Universal Energy (also known as Prana) will be stimulated to move the chakra's faster and arouse a stronger energy at a higher frequency. This will induce the organs, nerve system and endocrine glands to do their work properly and without blockages due to emotions, piled up within you because you never dealt with them or faced them.

There are 7 main chakras, and every chakra has its own colour: (for more details about each chakra, see below)

  Name Location Colour
1 root or base chakra At the very base of the spine red
2 sacral chakra Just below the navel orange
3 solar plexus between the navel and sternum, just below lower ribs yellow
4 heartchakra at the heart green
5 throat chakra at the throat blue
6 "3rd eye"/brow chakra between the eyes indigo
7 crownchakra juist above the top of your head violet

Details:

  1. Also known as the "Kundalini Chakra". It is connected to the secondary chakras in your feet and is associated with the adrenal glands. This is your grounding chakra, it handles basic survival and sexual energy. This chakra can give you sudden bursts of strength and energy when you need it.
  2. Also known as the "Hara Chakra", of the "Splenic Chakra". It is associated with the gonads. This chakra is identified with your centre of emotions and with gender identity. This is the place where you may find yourself feeling what others are feeling.
  3. This chakra is associated with the Pancreas. This is a powerful chakra, which can control and manipulate any incoming energy. This is the energy centre in your body which aligns your physical body with your spirit and intellect.
  4. This chakra is associated with the thymus gland and connects the spirit to the physical body, allowing you to channel love energy both inside your body and out into the world. A healthy heart chakra allows one to keep healthy perspective, even in the most troubling situations.
  5. This chakra corresponds to the thyroid gland. It's the centre for expressive communication and making and keeping commitments. This chakra is the centre for receiving clair-audient information (hearing voices).
  6. This chakra is also known as the "Third Eye Chakra". It's related to our higher mental and intuitive abilities. It's also associated with the pituitary gland and responsible for providing psychic information in a naturally clairvoyant manner.
  7. The Crown Chakra connects your energy body to the spirit, and this is where you receive information about your life purpose and spiritual path. This chakra is associated with the pineal gland and it can give you the highest level of spiritual knowledge.

There are several methods of chakra-therapy, but basically they all have the same effect: stimulating the chakras with the help of Universal Energy and thus stimulating the relevant body parts and organs and bringing body and mind into balance; helping you to "grow" on your spiritual path and helping you to feel more energetic.

Treatment doesn't take much time. The client is sitting or lying down, fully dressed. Apart from the chakras, there are a number of other spots included in the treatment, several "acupoints", to complete the treatment. This healing method is a so called holistic one, meaning that not only the ailment, disease or problem is being treated, but that your whole "being" is taken into consideration; it works on a physical, emotional and spiritual level. So the whole being is regarded instead of just the symptoms.Working with Universal Energy can be done beside regular medical treatment, but not instead of medical treatment in a number of cases. It is a supportive therapy, aiming to improve and speed up the healing process or, if no special problems, a higher energy level. This method has shown very effective. You, yourself, can also work with and stimulate your chakras. There are videos, DVD's and books available on this subject.
