Energy Psychology

Energy Psychology

Energy psychology is the general name for a number of healing methods, based on working with energy and acupoints. Some of these techniques are called Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), Emotional Balance Techniques, and no doubt there are a lot of other names, basically for the same principle.

Asian countries have been working with this healing method and others based on energy for many centuries. In the past decades, these techniques have been somewhat adjusted for use in the western world, without changing the basic principle: energy.

It is a remarkable and surprisingly simple way to deal with psychosomatic problems, emotional blocks (sometimes deeply hidden within), anger, fear, grief , phobias, weight loss, allergies, depression, anorexia OCD, etc. etc. It is also a great way for treatment of children. Often, it takes only a few sessions to achieve very good results, whereas regular medical or psychological / psychiatrical treatments (sometimes during many years!) have failed.

The method really seems to simple to be true... and anyone can learn to use it. EFT, for instance, is based on the principle that all negative emotions have a negative influence on the body's energy system, and that these (unresolved) emotions are major contributors to many of our physical diseases and pains.

The different methods of energy psychology vary between them, but the principle is always: stimulating the energy meridian point on the body by tapping on them with the fingertips. You could compare it to acupressure, or acupuncture - without the needles - and in a much quicker and more comfortable way. These meridian points are linked with certain organs and/or a certain negative emotion (like fear, grief, pain, etc.). By tapping on these points, and by balancing the left and right hemispheres and at the same time acknowledging the problem or emotion, the impact of the emotion will be diminished step by step and often entirely eliminated.
The most important points that are worked with are situated on the face, the trunk, hands and fingers.

During the treatment, the client will remain fully dressed and will be asked to sit down. It is important that the client is actively involved in the process; it's not a matter of passively undergoing the session. It's very easy to learn. It will give you a feeling of independence and freedom, knowing that you will be able to deal with your negative emotions in a very simple way, always and everywhere, with remarkable results! All it takes is a workshop and a couple of hours' practice and you can get practising on yourself, and, maybe in a later stage, on others.

It goes without saying, that doctor's prescriptions, treatments and/or medications should never be ignored. Energy Psychology is a wonderful supplement, because the regular medical science mainly focuses on the physical symptoms and ignores the real cause, the emotional trauma.

There are many practitioners throughout the world, and many of them also give live workshops. Surf on the internet for their names and addresses.
