Peculiar health facts from the bathroom and the kitchen
We all know that the food products in our kitchen are for eating purposes. And I assume we are also well aware of the fact that the toiletries in our bathroom are meant to boost our body. But, dear reader, did you know that some of these products come in very handy as First Aid remedies? Read more about this remarkable subject in the article below!
- Toothpaste appears to be an excellent ointment
for (light) burns.
Maybe not any kind of toothpaste, but Colgate's seems to be very
suitable for this purpose. Very handy when travelling... Disadvantage
of such toothpaste, on the other hand, is that it contains fluoride.
Toothpaste with natural ingredients are better for your teeth.
- A bizarre remedy for or fungal nail or foot infections:
soak your feet 1 - 2 times a day in Listerine (mouth
wash!).
- And that's not all... this remarkable product is also very
helpful with blisters: when they burst open, simply disinfect
with... Listerine!
- Suffering from a sore throat? Take 1/4 cup of vinegar
and 1/4 cup of honey; mix well and take 1 table spoon, 6 times
a day. The vinegar will kill the germs and the honey will smoothen and
relieve the sore throat.
- Vinegar for bruises: take a
cottonwool pad, soak it in white vinegar and put it on the bruise for
at least an hour. Vinegar diminishes the haemorrhage and
stimulates the healing process.
- Honey against boils and skin
infections: apply some honey to the infected spots and cover with
bandage or a plaster. Honey will kill the germs.
- Oatmeal for painful artritis:
mix 2 cups of oats with 1 cup of water. Heat this in the microwave for
1 minute and apply onto the affected spots.
- Muscular pains by flu or sporting
a little too fanatically? Add 1 tablespoon of horse-radish
to a cup of olive oil and mix well. Leave for 30 minutes and
use it as a massage oil. A massage of your sore muscles with
this remedy will give you instant relief!
- Coca cola against rust: the phosphoric acid in coca cola is very effective for removing of rust spots; the results are amazing!
